CHRISTIANITY:
• Catholic: Italy is a country with a Catholic majority and Parma is no exception to this. Just take a walk around the city to find churches with Masses timetables posted on the front door. There are many Christian-Catholic youth associations in which you can express your spirituality and meet new people who share their religious belief. Some examples are Missio Giovani Parma, Azione Cattolica and the various Agesci scout groups, which also organize retreats and excursions.
You can find all the contacts of these and other associations, on the web.
• Evangelical-Protestant: There are small Churches of evangelical-Protestant confession. These Churches do not have youth or student organizations, unlike the Catholic ones, given the small number of evangelical-Protestants in Italy.
• Orthodox: There is the Greek Orthodox parish churc of San Nectario in Borgo della Posta 19. The parish of San Pietro d'Alcantara, in via Padre Onorio, is used by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. In via Polizzi, is located the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moldovan community.
Finally, in Piazzale Picelli, Maria del Quartiere is entrusted to the Romanian Orthodox Church.
• ISLAM: In Parma you can find Muslim community and a youth association that organizes training events and cultural activities. You can contact them and find all the information on their Facebook page, Giovani Musulmani d’Italia-Parma.
• JUDAISM: In Parma there is a small Jewish community that gathers regularly in
the synagogue of Vicolo Fratelli Cervi n 4.
• BUDDHISM: There are no Buddhist places of worship in the city. However, you can find the Yosang Yesce association that promotes and spreads Mahayana Buddhism and meditation practices.
